Group Sessions for Participants

Includes the practical work of participants with their mentors, all of who are highly renowned European producers. Also includes lectures and individual sessions to strengthen the participant’s skills in pro- fessional areas: pitching, hands-on work on projects, career development, and distribution strategies.

GROUP SESSIONS

The group sessions are restricted to the participants.

GROUP SESSIONS WITH MENTORS: WORK ON PROJECTS.

Each producer, who participates with a ctional or documentary project, is matched with a mentor who will support her regarding practical aspects of her project, company, and career. This includes general positioning, script development, target groups, budgeting, (international) nancing, and dis- tribution. It can also focus on a more general evaluation of one’s company/career strategy as well as future projects.

Three to six months after the workshop week, a follow up meeting or Skype talk will take place to check on the participant’s progress.

The 2017 mentors are Ewa Puszczyńska (Ida), Sylvia Stevens (Faction Film), Gabriela Bacher (What a Man), Kate Leys (script editor, UK) and Katrin Schlösser (Producer, Lecturer).

PITCHING TO FIND YOUR STORY

with Kate Leys, Els Vandevorst, Andrea Willson, Bongiwe Selane and Valerie Fischer
First, we should all see a one-page synopsis or pitch doc (in advance.)
Second, the participants will pitch to a maximum of 2 mins.
Third, the panel will give feedback on the pitch, and use the one-page to open up the discussion if we want to. This is a very helpful development tool.

LEADERSHIP AND CAREER COACHING

With the support of experienced coaches, the participants work on their positioning, personal mission statement, and leadership and communication skills, as well as their negotiation techniques.

The 2017 business coaches are Sonja Zant, Cornelia Jaksche and Christine Bauer-Jelinek.

When the group is satis ed with the decisions made, Linda will review them and offer advice or ask about implications in various aspects of their notes.

Afterwards, another issue to consider will be explained to each group, and work within the individual teams will continue. There are a total of nine key issues to be addressed in the workshop, but within each company there will be a series of unique issues raised, different problems discussed, and resolu- tions made. After two days, each company will have a tailored, prioritized, and documented strategy to trigger a focused and highly motivational collaboration that inspires company growth.
