ProPro – The Producers’ Programme for Women is going international!
The third edition of ProPro,
an initiative of the Austrian Film Institute to empower women film producers is
now open for applications!
The third edition of ProPro will take place in June 2019 in Vienna. The workshop will support women to further develop their film projects and/or company strategies. With support of several European institutions and the film industry, the programme will facilitate a group of women international producers to capture and take part of significant share of the market.
Participating producers will join in to be supported by successful international producers and experts who will mentor them with hands-on advice for their film projects. The participants also will receive coaching on their leadership skills and encouragement to think big in their career planning and strategies for success.
Since 2015, every second year ProPro is being hosted by the Austrian Film Institute in cooperation with partners FC Gloria (Austria), FOCAL (Switzerland) and IDM (Italy) inviting mentors like film financing expert Linda Beath from Italy, producers Bettina Brokemper and Katrin Schlösser from Germany, Gabriela Bacher from USA, script editor Kate Leys from the United Kingdom, Bongiwe Selane from South Africa, Lise Lense-Møller from Denmark, Valerie Fischer from Switzerland, Ewa Puszczyńska from Poland, and many more.
About the programme
The one-week programme with a following mentoring phase is designed for international women producers to develop their career. Participating producers are assigned to highly acclaimed international women producers and experts, who mentor them in group sessions, individual meetings and two follow-up meetings. They receive hands-on advice for their film projects and careers, as well as consultation for particular obstacles in their professional lives.
These mentors, as well as many experts, are hand-picked for the individual needs of the respective participants and their projects. Our pool of experts includes award-winning producers and high ranging experts from all over Europe
Lectures, work groups and individual sessions deal with current needs and trends in the industry, such as digital distribution, crossmedia approach of various formats, new ways of storytelling and alternative ways of financing. A special focus of ProPro 2019 is the reach of young audiences.
With the support of experienced business coaches, the participants work on their positioning, personal mission statement, leadership and communication skills, as well as their negotiation techniques.
A series of lectures handle ‘Company Management Tools’, such as ‘Innovative Business Models and Company Strategies’, ‘Hiring’, ‘Development Policies’, ‘Cash Flow Planning’, etc.
For producers who run companies with several employees and participate without a project, ProPro offers ‘Strategic Planning for the Coming Five Years’, a professional management workshop adapted for the screen industries.
Participants have numerous networking and pitching opportunities with experts, fellow producers and decision makers.
